Find the balance

Are you overstimulated? Is your agenda fully booked with appointments with others and not with yourself? Do you get overwhelmed by the crowds on the streets? Do you feel the pressure from society again? Does everyone want to meet you? Do you feel stressed?

Now we seem to go back to the life before the COVID-19 pandemic, it sometimes feels like we have to catch up with the things we couldn’t do for the past two years. Everyone wants to meet you in real life, you can start to do all the things that you couldn’t do before and you can travel again. All these possibilities and not knowing what to choose, that can be overwhelming. Ask yourself the question: do you want to go back to your old life or did you learn something from this pandemic? Are you changed and are there things you want to keep for the rest of your life?

I hope you have learned from this period. That you have taken the time to reflect on yourself. That you know now who you truly are and what is important to you. That you realise that you also need to take time for yourself and your own health. That you are true to yourself and that you can be the person that you would like to be. Despite what other people say to you or think about you. That you can choose your own path.

As I speak for myself, I don’t think I can go back to my old life. I also don’t want it. I see this pandemic as a wake-up call for everyone in the world. To stop running around like crazy and being busy because everyone is busy. Forgetting the important things in life and just doing what everyone else is doing. No. I say no to a life like that. I will take my own path and I will do it my way.

Life is all about balance. Of course I am grateful that I can meet my family and friends again, to go out, discover new places and meet new people, travel to places that I like and to start new things. But I also want to keep the lessons from this period and keep some habits that have made me a better and healthier person. Like reading more often, meditating, slowing down and appreciating everything that I already have in my life. I hope I can find that balance and I hope you will find that too. Take care!
