Reflect on yourself

The seasons are changing. Summer has slowly changed into autumn. The leaves of the trees are changing from green into brown, yellow and red. Days are getting shorter. The darkness of the night remains longer. The temperature is changing. Warmth makes places for cold. I feel the changes in the air. Something is different. Also in my awareness.

Change your mindset

It is the beginning of the last three months of the year. Despite the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year goes very fast. It almost feels like the end of the year, but that is just only in our minds. We get those ideas from society. Of course it is a fact that these are the last months of the year 2021. But what are months and what are years? What is time? It is made by humans. In nature there is no pressure of time. Things are happening at the right time. Or are not happening.

Of course we need to keep track of time. To plan the things that we want to do in life and to work together with other people. But sometimes it is also good to let go of time. When you have the possibility to do that, give it a try. We are so focused on life goals and on time, that we lose the connection with the natural time that is always there. If you try to change your mindset, it will help you to be happier.

Don’t force yourself

I also plan my life full with tasks and to-do’s, but sometimes I block myself because of this. Especially as a writer, when I make time to write at a particular moment, but nothing is happening. But because I force myself, I am killing my creativity. Like now, when I write this blog. I already planned a subject to write about, but because I tried to force myself less, another subject came up in my mind. Without any force, I am writing this blog from my heart. That is the best flow for writing.

Tips for the coming months

The start of autumn is a good time to reflect on yourself. Hereby some tips I would like to share with you:

  • Don’t get caught up in time. Don’t let time become your enemy. You have still three months to do the things you wanted to do. And if that is not enough, a new year will start so you have enough time.
  • Make some time to reflect on yourself. What have you done this year? Are you happy with that? Are there still some improvements you can do? Write down the things you would like to do this year.
  • Catch yourself. Which habits you wanted to change, but you didn’t do? What are the reasons why you didn’t do it? You still have three months this year. You can still do it!
  • It was another year of COVID-19. But things are improving. The ‘normal’ life comes back bit by bit. What did you learn? What do you want to change? How can you improve to start a better life after this pandemic instead of going back to your old life? See this period as a rebirth. Be grateful for the lessons. And make a better life. Be the change.
