In my previous blog I shared seven small daily changes that can improve your life. In this blog I would like to share another seven small daily changes.
#1 Don’t think too much
Our brains are working constantly. But do you know that most of our thoughts are not correct? They are not based on reality, but based on fear. Our brain helps us to be safe. But in a world many of us are already safe, it still acts like we are in danger. So if we keep thinking too much, we can’t live our lives. We are constantly disrupted by our thoughts that wants to stop us. So it is important to become aware of this, take a deep breath and let it go.
#2 Think positive about people
It’s not easy to think positive about people in this world. But just try it. Be open and assume other people have good intentions. Also in this case, don’t think too much. You don’t know what someone else is thinking. So you can’t judge people without knowing anything. Thinking positive about people is not the same as trusting everyone. Keep using your intuition and common sense.
#3 Celebrate small wins
Why only celebrating the big things in life? It is good to appreciate the small things as well. As it is not about the goal, but about the journey.
#4 Make time to play
The problem with being an adult is that many of us don’t know how to have fun anymore. We take everything too serious. In some cases that is good, like when you are working or doing other serious tasks. But we also need time to play. You can play with your cat or dog, with your (grand) child or do something creative. Just find the joy in the things you do.
#5 Do scary things
You don’t have to think of taking big steps, but small ones. Try to eat something you have never tried before, smile to a stranger, talk to a stranger, read a book you normally wouldn’t read or watch a series you normally wouldn’t watch. The tension that comes with it, is normal. There is always fear in growth. If you don’t feel fear, there is also no growth.
#6 Smile more frequently
Did you know that our natural face expression is the one where we have a light smile on our face? This means our face is relaxed. Think about it when you go to the gym and lift heavy weights. It makes the world much nicer when you have a small smile on your face. In this way you can spread happiness and positive feelings. And make sure you make time every day for a good laugh. Watch something funny or do something funny with your family or friends.
#7 Go out for a walk
Now the weather is getting better, you don’t have an excuse. Go out for a walk. It will boost your energy and it will also give your mind a break. Enjoy!
