End of the year

The end of the year 2021 is almost here. For me it doesn’t mean that much, as it’s only something humans have created. It’s just a change in date and year, that’s it for me. You can always start something new, on every day of the year. Every day feels like a new chance and a new beginning.

But despite my thoughts about this, the end of the year is a good time to reflect on the past year. As mostly we forget to make time for this. For most of us this time of the year it’s not that busy with work, so we get time for ourselves. Hereby I would like to share some tips for self reflection you can do during your holidays:

  • No new year’s resolutions, but formulate a year theme for the coming year. It’s an easy and funny way to focus on the things that are important to you. What do you want to achieve? What do you want to do more? How do you want to feel? Be kind, health, love, flow or growth are some examples of a theme.
  • For the year 2022, make a list of 22 things that you would like to do that year. It can be something small and practical, but it can also be something big. Use your creativity and make something that makes you happy. Here are some examples: a book that you would like to read, a workshop you want to do, a movie or documentary that you would like to see or meeting a friend you haven’t seen for a long time.
  • Make a list of the year 2021. A list of things that you are grateful for. What have you done or what has happened that made you feel grateful? It can be the birth of a baby of your loved ones, the start of a new hobby or a new dish that you have learned to make.
  • Reflect on the people in your life. Who are the people that have supported you and given you energy? Are there people who are costing you energy or people who don’t respect you? Think about if you want to keep them in your life. Are there things you can change? Are there people you would like to see or have contact with more often? Contact them!

Wish you a peaceful and loving New Year’s Eve!
