Reflect

Sometimes you need to take a break. A long break. To get back in your shell and reflect. To think about your dreams and goals in life and what you can do to get closer to them. It’s okay to take that time for yourself. As it will help you to create the path of your life. Only you can take the responsibility to control your life and nobody else. You are your own master, so you decide what is important to you.

Don’t listen too much to others and your own voice in your head that is telling you that it is a waste of time. Don’t let fear and insecurity control your life. When you reflect, it is never a waste of time. And how long you need, is different for every person. So just listen to yourself and block some time in your busy schedule. Even when it’s only an afternoon, it is better than nothing.

Take an empty piece of paper and a pen or use a laptop to make some notes. Just write everything down that comes into your mind. Ask yourself the follow questions:

  • What are your goals and dreams? What would you like to achieve?
  • Are your dreams and goals still the same as a while ago?
  • Are there things that have changed?
  • Did some of your dreams or goals come true and how?
  • What are the things that stop you from coming closer to your goals?
  • What can you do about that?
  • Which small steps can you take to get closer to your goals or dreams?
  • What are the things you can improve?
  • Is there someone who can help you?

These are only some examples of questions you can ask yourself. It is an ongoing process, as life always changes and you develop yourself. That’s why it is important to stop once in a while. And always keep in mind that it is about the journey, not about the goal.
