Spring equinox

Last week the spring equinox started. The first day of spring is also known as the spring equinox. The first day of spring and of autumn are equinoxes. The first day of summer and winter are solstices. If you would like to know more about this difference, read my blog about the autumn equinox

The equinoxes and solstices are part of the flow of nature. As we are all part of nature, we also follow the natural seasons. At least, it would be good for your health if you would try. I know it is not easy. Being busy with work and spending more time at the office again, you hardly notice the differences in seasons. Try to think of ways you can still experience the seasons. For example, take a small walk in an area with trees during your daily break. Or make time for this after your dinner when you are back at home. Be mindful and experience your surroundings. The trees, wind, birds, flowers and the colors of the leaves. Take a deep breath and bring your attention to the present moment. Practice with this and make this part of your daily habit.

If you already notice the changes in seasons, then you have experienced the transformation from winter to spring. Winter is a season for rest, reflect and recover. A period where you spend more time inside the house, in your own shell and try to find warmth. To reflect about the past year and think about the changes in your life. To set new goals and dream big.

The transformation from winter to spring starts with the sunshine. In the winter cold you feel the warmth of the sun becoming stronger. Like the first blossoms start to bloom, you will also slowly start to flourish. You come out of your shell and will take small steps to achieve your goals and make your dreams come true. Like the sunshine is becoming stronger, you will also become stronger. As you enjoy the warmth of the sun, the beauty of the first blossoms and the green leaves starting to show themselves, you get more inspired.

Spring is a season of new life, new things, hope and chances. Everything that you started during winter, starts to grow slowly.

Hereby some tips you can do during this season:

  • Visit a farm and see the firstborn lambs.
  • Have a plantbased picnic underneath the beautiful blossoms with some friends.
  • Enjoy a coffee with oat milk on your balcony in the sunshine.
  • Hide some vegan chocolate eggs for your nieces or nephews and let them find them.
  • Have a walk around the countryside and notice the differences.
  • Read a book outside in the park.
  • Declutter and clean your house.
  • Get your bike and cycle to a nice place nearby.

For me it’s my favorite season because I love newborn animals, blossoms and the start of something new. What are the things that you do in this season? Enjoy the spring!
