The Indian summer made place for autumn. Winter time just started in the Netherlands. The changes of the colors of the leaves in the trees varies from green to yellow, orange and red. The leaves are falling down on the ground. It is becoming colder and it gets more windy and rainy.
Change in seasons
To experience this time of the year in a better way, you can start to accept the changes in the seasons. Try to feel the changes and be grateful for this. The change in seasons is similar to the changes in life. Everything starts and will end. Things always change and nothing remains the same.
Embrace autumn
When you embrace the autumn, you will also appreciate the spring and summer more. Try to think of all the things that you can do in this period of the year. Make a walk through the park or forest and see all the magnificent colors of the leaves. Let the wind play with your hair, take a deep breath and fill your lungs with fresh air. Make a delicious cup of hot chai at home and enjoy the explosion of herbs. When it is rainy and windy outside, find a comfortable place in your home and grab a good book. Decorate your house with seasonal decorations and make it more cosy, for example with Halloween accessories.

Boundary between living and dead
It is almost Halloween. This holiday tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. The new year of the Celts (people who lived in the area of Ireland, United Kingdom and northern France) started on the 1st of November. Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred. On the night of 31st October they celebrated Samhain, an evening that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth.
Take a moment
It is not about the funny and scary Halloween decorations or the origin of this celebration. If you believe in it or not, you can use these days to think about the people or animals who passed away in your own life. Remember them and be grateful for their part in your life. Even when you can’t see them anymore, they always remain a part of your life. Take a moment and cherish the beautiful memories and feel the love. If you feel sad because you miss them, let it be. It is part of life. Be close to them and enjoy your Halloween!
